The Newbury Chamber Choir is currently looking for new singers and would love to hear from you if you are interested in joining. We are very keen to attract good singers to the Choir and always ready to welcome new members. We do expect singers to be able to read music but we do not hold auditions. For new singers there is normally a six-week mutual trial period.

Rehearsals

Regular attendance at the choir’s rehearsals is expected.  They are currently held during term time on Tuesday evenings in the School Hall at Thorngrove School, Highclere between Andover and Newbury from 7:30 pm to 9:15 pm.  There is ample, safe parking.

Directions

When arriving at Highclere from Newbury turn right at Mount Road and take the second left along Pantings Lane where you will come to the entrance to Thorngrove on the right. Coming from Andover turn left into Mount Road. map

Concert dress

For some concerts we dress formally, men in DJs and black bow ties and women in white blouses and black skirts, but we also dress more informally depending on the music and location.

Subscriptions

Subscriptions are £85 for the three-term year and reductions apply to young people still in full time education and to those joining late in the year.
